The BIPeriods table is part of the Suntico Sage 50 Accounts OData feed for tools like Microsoft Power BI. It contains definitions of the accounting periods 1 through 12 for the currently open accounting year in Sage 50 Accounts.
This table is essential if you want automatically to detect the start and end of the financial year for a Sage 50 Accounts company. It would be very useful for anyone such as an accountant in practice who is using Power BI to deliver reporting solutions to multiple clients.
|Period||Text||Period # 1 through to 12 - this is the accounting period (month) e.g. "1" for April if the accounting year starts on 1st April|
|Description||Text||E.g. "Month 1, April 2017"|
|PeriodID||Text||Internal record ID for the OData feed. Links to the BIDates table.|
|StartOfPeriod||Date/Time||First day of the period e.g. 01/02/2018|
|DaysInPeriod||Whole Number||# of days in the period - e.g. 28|
|EndOfPeriod||Date/Time||Last day of the period e.g. 28/02/2018|
|LastSageYearOpen||True/False||True if the previous year is still open in Sage|
|Month||Text||3-alpha text description of the month of the date - e.g. "Jan", "Feb", "Mar" etc.|
|MonthNum||Whole Number||Month # - e.g. "2" for February|
|Year||Whole Number||Calendar year that the period is in - e.g. "2018"|
The BIPeriods table in the OData feed has no direct relationships with other tables in the data feed, but it is there to enable the definition of analysis periods in the Dates table such as "Last Year", "This Year", and "Next Year".
